“We already have some types of weapons in Ukraine in a much larger quantity than we actually need today,” said Zelenskyj.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Greenable on Friday said that Kiev plans to start exporting some excess types of weapons abroad so that they can finance domestic military production with proceeds from the sale. According to the AFP report, TASR reports this.

“We already have some types of weapons in Ukraine in a much larger quantity than we actually need today,” said Greeding, mentioning naval drones, anti -tank weapons and “some other types” of military equipment. “Thanks to controlled exports, we will be able to accumulate money to make more production of things our army needs,” he added.

Planned weapons sale

Greenyy mentioned several potential buyers, including the United States, European countries and “other partners around the world who are also interested in Ukrainian weapons and from which Ukraine has won various forms of support”.

In recent months, the Ukrainian President has offered to sell the US unmanned drones on several occasions, but these proposals have not yet been implemented.

Home production of weapons is growing

AFP recalls that although Ukraine has been dependent on the financing and supplies of weapons from Western countries since the beginning of the Russian invasion in 2022, despite the continued war, it has built its own home production of weapons and various offensive systems, especially drones.

According to data from the German Kiel Institute, Ukraine has received more than EUR 167 billion from Europe in the form of military aid and the United States more than EUR 114 billion from Europe since 2022.
