White House spokesman Karoline Leavitt said she is ‘100% confident that the Tiktok agreement has been closed and will be signed in the coming days’

White House spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt, said in an interview with Fox News This Saturday (20) that is “100% confident that the agreement was closed and will be signed in the coming days”. On Friday (19), the presidents of, and the, talked about the term that allows the Chinese social network to go into operation in the US.

“It just needs to be signed and this should be done in the coming days. The agreement is the merit of Secretary Scott Bessent, Ambassador Jamieson Greer and Vice President Jd Vance, who have been negotiating with the Chinese for months,” says Leavitt. According to her, the closed agreement puts “America first and keeps Tiktok open to all young Americans.”

Leavitt added that the deal means that Tiktok will be mostly owned by “Americans”, with seven seats on the company’s board that controls the application, six composed of Americans. “Data, privacy and algorithm will be led by one of the largest technology companies in the country, Oracle,” she said.
