Left protesters occupy on Sunday afternoon (21) the same piece of Copacabana beach that receives acts in defense of former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) for, after the vote of and the urgency for the House of Representatives.
Rio’s left fronts, accustomed to convening demonstrations in the city center, especially in Cinelândia, expect a higher audience than the last two Bolsonarist mobilizations.
Mixed between red and yellow shirts, attempt by the progressive field to resignify the uniform of the Brazilian team, the public of the act began to occupy subway wagons from 12h. Some carry larks and beach clothes. There are also Flamengo and Vasco shirts, which make classic at 5:30 pm in Maracanã.
Shouts of “without amnesty” were sung on the way to the beach, which until 1:30 pm had audiences dispersed along Avenida Atlantica, without occupying block.
It was at Avenida Atlântica, height of Post 5, that pockets made the last demonstration of the day, during trial of the coup plot at the Supreme Court (STF).
A month earlier, the mobilization of August 3 was marked by the connection of Senator Flávio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ) to his father, Jair, who greeted the audience present on the beach over the phone. The use of networks for communication with supporters had been banned and the greeting resulted, the next day, in a house arrest issued by Minister Alexandre de Moraes, of the STF.
It was also in Copacabana the act of September 7, 2022, in which Bolsonaro, then President of the Republic, raised the tone in attacks against the Supreme Court and threatened democratic rupture.
The act was summoned by leftist social movements and gained greater traction in Rio, after the announcement of the presence of, and, which turned the event into a musical act and burst the bubble of political mobilization.

Part of the streets of the neighborhood is closed to cars due to the acts. The clues of Avenida Atlantica are already open to the public traditionally on Sundays.
The mobilization against the shielding PEC and the amnesty to those involved in January 8 is scheduled for at least 22 capitals, and was called in hasty people without fear and popular Brazil, linked to PSOL and the PT and bringing movements such as the MST (Landless Rural Workers Movement) and the MTST (Homeless Workers Movement).
In São Paulo, the demonstration takes place in front of MASP, on Paulista Avenue, also at 14h. The expectation is to expand the public that went on September 7 in the Anhangabaú Valley, which brought together 8,800 people, according to the monitor of the political debate of Cebrap.
The idea of the protests on Sunday is to mark a position against, especially pocket parliamentarians and centrian representatives.
The Shielding PEC, approved in the House on Tuesday (16), allows Congress to block criminal proceedings in (Supreme Federal Court) against deputies and senators and arrests of parliamentarians.
The text now goes to the, where it needs to be approved in two shifts to be promulgated and enter into force, with no sanction or presidential veto.
The text received massive support from the PL of Jair Bolsonaro’s PL parties, as well as favorable votes for a minority among PT deputies.
Today, deputies and senators can only be arrested in the act for a crime considered serious and without bail, such as racism, rape or crime against the Democratic Rule of Law.
They can be prosecuted criminally without congressional authorization, and these processes run directly in the Supreme Court, provided they are related to the mandate and the political function of the parliamentary.
The PEC states that the endorsement to criminally prosecute a congressman will be given by the house in which he exercises mandate – a barrack or senate. The vote will have to be done within 90 days from the order of the Supreme Court on the process.
The protesters are also in the sights of emergency, approved by the Congress, the Amnesty Project to the crimes committed between the elections of 2022 and the January 8, 2023.
The rapporteur of the proposal, deputy (Solidarity-SP), intends to change the focus of the discussion to a reduction of penalties.
