The International Protocol for the Service for Women in Climate Emergency and Disaster, designed with the support of the, is part of the Solution Acceleration Plan. The text brings international guidelines to ensure the protection and rights of women in situations of climate crisis.
UN data women indicate that women and girls are among the groups most affected by climate emergencies and are up to 14 times more likely to die in disasters than men.
The proposal has four central axes, including data production by gender and race and/or ethnicity to reveal the real needs of women in crisis situations and expand resources for women’s initiatives.
“Brazil presents to COP30 an innovative proposal that places the lives and rights of women in the center of climate governance. Emergencies cannot mean setbacks or more violence against women,” says women Minister,. “Our commitment is to ensure that even in the face of crises, dignity, security and participation of women are absolute priorities.”
