The Central Agriculture Institute (ÚKSÚP) pointed out The current occurrence of the disease golden yellowing of the vine, which is one of the most serious threats to viticulture in Europe. Have so far confirmed the disease in the districts Nové Zámky, Galanta, Sobrance, Levice, Nitra and Zlaté Moravce. On Monday, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MPRV) SR informed about it.
It is a quarantine disease that can have significant economic effects on vine growers and wine producers. In these districts, a quarantine has been declared to prevent further spread of the disease. At the same time, ÚksuP carries out intensive monitoring and survey in all wine -growing areas throughout Slovakia. The aim is to obtain accurate information about the state of the vine population as soon as possible and take measures in time to eliminate risk.
“The golden yellowing of the vine is a disease that can endanger the entire viticulture. Therefore, our priority is the rapid identification and immediate adoption of quarantine measures,” He stated the Úksúp in his opinion. According to ÚksuP, growers should monitor information and current measures on the Office’s website, Strictly follow the announced quarantine measures and report any suspicious symptoms of the disease.
