Owen Norgrove (17) from England came to the barber shop for a normal hairstyle. Barber noticed a swelling on the right side of the boy’s neck while cutting and responded, informs “A friend, you should go to the doctor,” He advised him.
The teenager took his words to his heart and sat with his general practitioner for a week. Tests revealed that Owen has Hodgkin’s lymphoma – lymphatic system cancer. In January 2024 he started with aggressive chemotherapythat had a serious consequence. “He had no immune system, it was terrible,” describes his mom Hayley.
The diagnosis shocked the whole family. No one expected that he could have cancer at such a young age. Owen fought as a dragon and after five months of treatment in the hospital he heard an amazing news. He got into remission.
After a year, the young man returned to the barber and met his barber again. “I am extremely grateful to him. You didn’t have to notice it, but his words saved my life,” said Owen. Barber also admits that it was touched. “When he came, I didn’t know him. He looked different without hair. When they told me he had overcome cancer, I had tears in my eyes. Today he’s healthy and that’s the most important thing,” The man confided to the media.
