The Italian Minister for Civil Protection and Naval Policy Nello Musumeci on Tuesday in Rome received Slovak Interior Minister Matúš Šutaj Eštok. They discussed the mutual cooperation of the countries, especially in the field of civil protection, TASR informed the press department of the Minister of the Interior.
“I look forward to having excellent relationships, as evidenced by two -sided aid in the crisis so far. Given the impaired geopolitical situation in our immediate surroundings, but also at the wider international level, it is also crucial for Slovakia to ensure high readiness in the field of civil protection and crisis management,“ He said at the receipt of Šutaj Eštok.
“In recent years we have faced many challenges that have taught us that It is necessary to restore and strengthen coordination between the individual security forces of the state. Therefore, we are preparing a new concept of management of emergency situations, which will integrate all phases from prevention, to manage crises, to renewal and reconstruction, while state institutions, local governments and local communities will be involved, ”added the Minister.
According to him, the Slovak Republic appreciates the extension of cooperation opportunities with Italy, where the civil protection system has been building systematically for 44 years and in addition to the state has also been investigated by the private sector. In the field of civil protection and crisis management, it also includes the recovery and maintenance of anti -aircraft covers or assistance in cases of natural disasters.
“I am convinced that today’s meeting will allow us to continue to discuss key topics such as civilian population protection in the event of war conflicts, maintenance and modernization of civil protection covers, assistance in natural disasters and effective crisis management,” The Minister of the Interior added. At the end of the meeting he officially invited Musumeci to visit the Slovak Republic.
After the meeting Šutaj Eštok He visited the Civil Protection Operational Center, including a presentation of specific activities related to the monitoring of the endangered area of the Flegrean fields at the risk of large earthquakes.
