President Lula has reported his allies that he intends to appoint federal deputy Guilherme Boulos (PSOL-SP) as new minister of the General Secretariat of the Presidency, replacing Márcio Macêdo. The information is from the newspaper S.Paulo Folha.

The officialization of the appointment is expected to occur after the return of the president of his trip to the United States. The change is part of the government’s strategy to reinforce the support of the left in the 2026 elections.

The decision would have been shared with PT members and ministers at a meeting held before the presidential trip.
