Peter Pellegrini negotiated with the Georgian President, offered him assistance with integration into the EU

President Peter Pellegrini on Wednesday in New York attended a series of diplomatic meetings. At a bilateral negotiation with Georgian President Micheil Kavelašvili, he offered Slovak experience in the EU integration and discussed economic cooperation.

President of the Slovak Republic Peter Pellegrini on Wednesday in addition to the meeting of the General Assembly of the United Nations (UN VZ) in New York has attended several meetings. He negotiated bilaterally with President of Georgia Micheil Kavelašvili and also participated in the Crimean platform summit. The President reported this on social networks, TASR writes.

Pellegrini: We are ready to pass on Georgia to pass our experience from the integration process to the EU

At the beginning of Wednesday’s program, Pellegrini participated in the Leaders Breakfast event, where he met the former mayor of New York and Media tycoon Michael Bloomberg.

Subsequently, the Head of State graduated bilateral negotiations with the Georgian President. According to Pellegrini, Slovak-Georgian cooperation brings significant potential in the economic field, especially in energy projects, water management, recycling, intelligent infrastructure.

“I confirmed that we are ready to pass on our experience from the integration access process to the EU,” Pellegrini wrote. “I look forward to continuing the discussion while visiting Georgia, to which the President invited me,” he added.

Kavelašvili expressed his gratitude for the support of the territorial integrity of Georgia

Kuelosvili wrote on Facebook that during the meeting the main priorities of cooperation between the two countries and the prospect of further deepening of relationships were discussed. He also expressed his gratitude to Slovakia for the support of the territorial integrity of Georgia.

Pellegrini subsequently participated in the 5th Summit of the International Crimean Platform, which, according to the President, is to emphasize messages on the support of the main principles of the UN Charter – sovereignty and the immutability of borders by military force.

The President of the Slovak Republic will perform with a speech as part of Wednesday’s program at the afternoon meeting of the UN VZ.
