na CCJ (Committee on Constitution and Justice) of the Senate unanimously, with the votes of 26 senators, this Wednesday (24).
The deliberation had votes of starting senators and some alternates, who replaced absent holders. The discussion of the text lasted more than four hours.
Criticism of the text were unanimous among the senators, but opposition senators made caveats and condemned the performance of the Supreme Court. Still, the PEC did not receive opposite votes.
Several alternate senators announced their opposite votes in their speeches, but not everyone could record the votes. The president of the CCJ himself, Otto Alencar (PSD-BA), stressed that he was against PEC, but stressed that he only votes in cases of tiebreaker.
The rapporteur, Senator Alessandro Vieira (MDB-SE), presented an opinion for the “unconstitutionality, misconduct and rejection” of the proposal. Now the proposal will go to the plenary. For being unanimously rejected by Senate President David Alcolumbe (Union-AP).
Otto Alencar, however, argues that the text is placed in vote as a political gesture of the house for the rejection of the proposal.
In total, four holders were absent: Marcos Rogério (PL-RO), Weverton (PDT-MA), Ciro Nogueira (PP-PI), Mecias de Jesus (Republicans-RR)-besides Senator Vanderlan Cardoso (PSD-GO), who is licensed.
