The second edition of the Algarve Wine Session will take place on October 17, at Hilton Vilamoura As Golf Resort & Spa waterfalls, and promises to bring together producers, experts and wine lovers in a meeting dedicated to the best of Algarve viticulture. organized by the Algarve Wine Commission. The goal is to make known the quality and exclusive castes of the region, such as black mole, increasingly valued inside and outside the Algarve.
According to Sara Silva, chairman of the Algarve Wine Committee, “Algarve Wine Session is a showcase of what is best done in our region, in terms of wines, innovation and sustainability. This second edition marks an important step in the mission of the Algarve wine commission of giving greater visibility to the unique wines and the unique castes that are born here, such as the overall public. Symbolic of approximation between producers and all those who value the authentic flavors of the Algarve. We want this event to be not only a discovery experience, but also an engine for the growth of wine tourism and for the recognition of the excellence of our wines at national and international levels. ”

The big news this year is precisely the opening to the general public, beyond the Horeca channel. The program includes lectures, tests, direct contacts with producers and masterclasses, reinforcing the growing weight of the wine sector in the regional economy.
The program starts with the lecture “Regenerative Roots: Innovation and Sustainability in Algarve Viticulture”, between 11:00 and 12:00, conducted by regional experts and producers. From 14:00 to 19:45, a free test session with dozens of algarve wines and regional products available for tasting.

Two MasterClasses are still scheduled: “Algarve Soul: Wines and Gastronomy” (16:00), conducted by Hilton Vilamoura André Simões executive chef and Sommelier Miguel Martins, and “Between Barrocal and Sea: The Wines of the Algarve” (19:15), guided by the wine expert Gilmar Brito.
