Ukraine has been the target of extensive nightly Russian attacks. The number of victims has risen to four, the injured are dozens, including children.
Ukraine said on Sunday that at least four people died in the extensive night air attacks of Russia and dozens of others were injured. Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha claims that “hundreds of drones and missiles have been burned in its territory, TASR writes, according to DPA, Reuters and AFP reports.
The head of the Military Administration of Kiev Tymur Tychenko originally informed about three victims, including a 12-year-old girl. Shortly thereafter, he revised this number after the rescuers discovered another body. He told the media that the number of victims could grow during the rescue work.
The number of injured in regions
The head of Kiev regional military administration Mykola Kalashnik on the telegram added that the Russian attacks in the capital injured at least 27 people. In the Zaporoza region, the local authorities talk about at least 21 injured, including at least three children.
“The attacks destroyed residential buildings and caused civilian victims,” Sybiha wrote on the social network X, adding that Ukraine “must maximize the cost of further escalation for Russia”. According to independent observers, night strikes have been one of the most extensive since the beginning of the war, Reuters wrote.
A massive attack on Kiev
The alarm sirens sounded mainly in the Kiev region. Mayor Kiev Vitaly Klitschko said that the capital is under a “massive” attack and urged people to stay in shelters.
“Again, residential buildings and infrastructure were affected. Again, it is a war against civilians,” said the head of the office of Ukrainian President Andri Jermak.
