At least nine people died when a typhoon hit the northern province of Ninh Binh on Monday early morning. The other two victims are also recorded in Hue and Thanh Hoa provinces.
Bualii moved along the north coast of the country and before coming to the mainland on night on Monday caused waves up to eight meters high, hit by two fishing ships. There are 17 fishermen missing.
At 6.00, CEST Typhun passed through the province of Nghe an towards neighboring Laos. Upon arrival at the mainland, the wind speed dropped from 117 to 74 kilometers per hour.
Extensive damage
Baulai has so far damaged 245 buildings, flooded nearly 1,400 hectares of agricultural land and cut off access to several areas, said the Vietnamese disaster management agency, which does not give any major damage to industrial buildings.
