Municipal elections take place between 8h00 and 20h00 of October 12. Voters go Elect the leading bodies of 308 municipal councils, 308 municipal assemblies and 3,221 parish assemblies.
The official campaign for municipal elections, which will be held on October 12, starts this Tuesday for 817 groups of citizens and political forces, which ran over 12,860 lists to municipalities across the country.
According to the calendar released by the National Election Commission (CNE), the Campaign runs until October 10Friday that precedes the electoral day.
The provisional data of estimate that they apply in these authorities 817 Political forces and movementsof which 618 are candidacies of groups of electrical citizens, 181 applications from different party coalitions and even from 18 political parties.
Also according to the provisional numbers, in total, the applications presented 1,588 lists to the city councils, 1,524 to the municipal assemblies and 9,750 to the parish assemblies.
O Arrives presented applications to 307 of the 308 municipal councils (99,6%), a CDU (PCP/PEV) a 299 (97,0%)o PS (isolated or coalition) to 298 (96.7%) and the PSD (isolated or coalition) to 293 (95.1%).
According to the electoral administration of the General Secretariat of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MAI), they were registered with the Electoral Notebooks 9,285,175 voters until June 15.
Until September 25, the CNE received 701 complaints or requests to appear related to municipal elections (661 complaints and 40 requests for opinion), having deliberated in 163 of these processes.
Among the 163 deliberations, the CNE decided to send 17 cases to the prosecutor, as well as another 37, but these relative to infringement.
What voters vote for?
In the municipal elections, which take place between 8 am and 8 pm on October 12, voters will Elect the leading bodies of 308 municipal councils, 308 municipal assemblies and 3,221 parish assemblies.
Others 37 parishes will choose the executive in plenary of citizensfor having less than 150 voters.
Following these municipalities will be replaced 302 parishes that had been added or extinguished by the 2013 Administrative Reform, in a process that will disaggregate 135 parish unions.
Portugal has 308 Municipalities and, following the next autarchic, will have 3,258 parishes (Crow is the only municipality without parish council, being the competences of this assumed by the City Council).
In addition to the more than 600 citizens’ movements, they presented candidates for elections, alone or coalition, PS, PSD, CDS-PP, arrives, IL, Free, Be, Pan, together for the people (JPP), Portuguese Labor Party (PTP), Volt Portugal, National Democratic Alternative (DNA), New Right, Liberal Social Party (PLS) (RIR), Monarchical Popular Party (PPM) and Earth Party (MPT), besides the CDU.
