The PSOE is still possible to carry out the budgets despite the complex negotiation with the groups
The PSOE spokesman in Congress, Patxi López, is still “possible” that the government can carry out the 2026 budgets, despite the complexity of negotiating them with different political forces and objectives. This has been assured in an interview in TVE, on the day the constitutional term ends to present before the Congress the General State Budget project by 2026 in a timely manner. The Constitution establishes that the accounts must be taken to the lower house at least three months before the previous year ends.
López has explained that the draft is prepared and that, as the Minister of Finance, María Jesús Montero, advanced yesterday, are in the absence of the last fringes. That said, it has been “sure” that in the end they can “marry” the “puzzle” and include all the demands of the groups. To the question of when they plan to register the ceiling of spending and stability path, he said that the government decides and that it is negotiating “to be able to do it as soon as possible.”
In addition, López has rejected the popular party proposal to create a visa for points for migrants. “He already did (Mariano) Rajoy 17 years ago and in the background it is unconstitutional because what he comes to say is that there are first and second immigrants,” he warned. “It is contrary to international law,” López has warned when asked about the migration plan presented by the Popular Party this weekend in Murcia.
