President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva issued a decree that regulate a Free Modality do GAS PEOPLE AIDwhich distributes cylinders to families with per capita family income monthly less than or equal to half a minimum wage.
The text, published in Official Gazette of the Union (DOU)provides that amount of cylinders free per year will be defined according to the number of members by family. For families of two or three people, there will be four aids per year; For larger families, the decree establishes six aids per year.
“The aid will not be cumulative between successive periods. The provision of assistance will be valid to depend on the number of people per family, counted from the date of its availability, as follows: family of two or three – three months of expiration; and family of four or more people – two months of validity. Families that will be entitled to gratuity in the gas cylinder will be prioritized by criteria of greater social and economic vulnerability, defined by the Ministry of Development and Social Assistance, Family and Hunger Fighting.
“The granting of the Gas aid of the People in the free modality is temporary, personal and non -transferable and does not generate acquired right. The implementation of the free modality of the People’s Gas aid will be performed in phases, respecting budget and financial availability,” adds the decree.
