The big surprise of Nobel Prices is called Mary Brunkow

It was half past two in Seattle when it became known that Mary E. Brunkow received the Nobel Prize for Medicine 2025. The surprise when waking up – certainly including dozens of calls in the absence – may have been particularly great among the molecular biologist. In contrast to many others, she is not a university research group leader, but has been working as a program manager at the Institute for Systems Biology in Seattle for a long time in the biotech industry.
