Sham Elheikh, Egypt (Reuters)-Israeli tanks, boats and jets bombed parts of the Gaza Strip on Tuesday, without giving the Palestinians on the anniversary of Hamas’s attack that led to two years of war and highlighting the challenges of Donald Trump’s plan to stop the conflict.
Without ceasefire, residents said Israel continued with their offensive after Hamas and Israel started indirect negotiations on Monday in Sharm Elheikh, Egypt, on key issues such as Israel de Gaza and Hamas’s disarmament.
Negotiations on the US President’s plan are widely seen as the most promising so far to end a war that has killed tens of thousands of Palestinians and devastated Gaza since the October 7 attack against Israel, which killed 1,200 people.

Qatar adopts caution
But Qatar, which was mediator in previous attempts to ensure a ceasefire along with US and Egypt, said many details still need to be resolved.
“The plan consists of 20 points, and all these points require practical interpretations on the ground,” said Qatar Foreign Ministry spokesman Majed Al-Ansari, at a press conference.
Hamas delivering the hostages seized in the 2023 attack would mean the end of the war, he said.
