An Israeli delegation arrived in the country on Monday to participate in indirect meetings with mediators and the Palestinian group
The first round of conversations about between representatives of and international mediators ended this Tuesday (7), local time, amid a “positive atmosphere”, reported Egyptian state broadcaster Al Qahera News. The negotiations, which take place in the tourist city of Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt, are expected to continue today. An Israeli delegation arrived in the country on Monday to participate in indirect meetings with mediators and the Palestinian group.
The meeting seeks to discuss the details of a proposal presented by United States President Donald Trump, which envisages an exchange of prisoners and hostages, in addition to a long-term ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. Egypt, together with Qatar and the United States, acts as a mediator in attempts to end the conflict, which has already caused a serious humanitarian crisis in the region. So far, neither party has confirmed concrete progress, but diplomatic sources describe the dialogue as an encouraging initial step.
