It inaugurated this Monday (6) at the block headquarters, in Montevideo (Uruguay), a space dedicated to the secretary general of Itamaraty in the first two Lula administrations, which died in 2024 at 84.
The inauguration was attended by the President of the Mercosur Parliament (Parlasul), Humberto Costa, and the permanent representative of Brazil with the block, ambassador Antonio Simões. Also present were parliamentarians such as Federal Deputy Bohn Gass (PT-RS) and the widow of Guimarães, Maria Maia.
The ambassador stood out in the formulation of regional integration policies, especially Mercosur-in 2011, he assumed the Brazilian representation in the block.
