Senator stated that she received insults and images that simulated her and her daughter’s death
The senator (Republicanos-DF) stated, during the Human Rights Commission of the Senate ofthis Wednesday (July 1, 2026), that she and her daughter have received insults and threats on social media.
According to Damares, internet users started sending her insults after the Bolsonarist blogger, pre-candidate for federal deputy for the PL in Paraná, stated that she would be “shepherd lover” e “feminist”.
The senator took advantage of the speech to say that there is a difference between the terms “tramp” e “tramp”suggesting that the 2nd term carries a misogynistic character.
“This week, believe me, they even gave me a lover, at 62 years old […] saying that I am a pastor’s lover, saying the most absurd things you can imagine. When they look at a man and call him a bum, everyone thinks he’s lazy. But when they say that a woman is a slut, the meaning is not laziness.”.
According to the senator, internet users also targeted her adopted daughter, who is indigenous. Lulu Kamayurá, created by the senator, She started receiving images of scenes of violence against herself, according to Damares.
“They said they were going to kill my daughter. […] And they simulate images that are impaling my daughter, that are decapitating her, that are decapitating me. It is a political violence that we cannot imagine because there is so much hatred towards women who reach a place of power”, said the senator.
According to Damares, any disagreement with her and her political opinions must be discussed legally in debates.
