“Maranhão has a historical deficit of sports infrastructure. Which makes it in the last position among all Brazilian states, when this criterion is taken into consideration,” says the Fufuca folder.

This budget cake is used to fund the ministry (water and electricity bills and administrative contracts), maintain programs such as investing in works in the municipalities.
It is in this last cake that Fufuca has directed the resources to Maranhão. By the beginning of October, separate money for investments in your home state should make 78 works viable in Maranhão municipalities.
The second state that received the most resources was Bahia, which will have 13 works funded by the Fufuca Ministry of Sport in 2025 with the money committed so far.
The Progressive Union Federation decided in early September, demanding that its affiliates with elective positions came out of the government.
Progressives defined that the deadline for Fufuca to leave the Ministry of Sport would be on Sunday (5). The minister, however, has not yet announced his decision and with President Lula in Imperatriz (MA) on Monday (6).

If he remains in government, Fufuca loses control of the party in the state to the federal deputy Pedro Lucas Fernandes (-ma).
Fufuca’s dilemma is related to the 2026 elections. The ministry guarantees visibility and money for the minister to cling to a Senate dispute next year. Without the party command, however, he has no guarantee that he will compete for the High House.
Fufuca social networks highlight the works carried out by the Ministry of Sport in the municipalities of Maranhão. On September 21, the minister announced the delivery of the first Brazil Arena in the state, in Vargem Grande. “A historical achievement for Vargem-Grandenses,” he wrote.
On Saturday (4), the minister recorded video in Paço do Lumiar (MA) dancing with elderly and children in signing a service order to build a sports arena.
