Lula sanctions law that increases the penalty for those who sell, provide, serve, minister or deliver alcohol to minors

President Luiz Inacio da Silva sanctioned a law that increases the penalty for those who sell, provide, serve, minister or deliver alcohol to minors. The measure was published in the Federal Official Gazette on Tuesday (7). In the previous text, Article 243 of the Child and Adolescent Statute provided for detention penalty ranging from two to four years for this crime. With the sanction of the new law, the punishment will be increased from one third to half if the child or adolescent use or consume the product.

The law is also valid for any product whose components may cause physical or mental dependence if the minor use or consume it.
