It didn’t work for the newcomer . The team of Thiago Viana, which reached the quarterfinals with two wins and one defeat, lost this Sunday (12) to Sports Califrom Colombia, 2-0. The failure of the Tricolor defense was decisive in the result. María Marquínez and Paola García scored the Colombian goals. Although the Tricolors started the game more connected, after half the first half, the Colombian team dominated. That’s when Marquínez put pressure on the Tricolor defense and forced Kaká to make a mistake. Shirt number 9 had the ball poorly withdrawn, invaded the area and opened the scoring in Argentina.

In the second half, Paola García added a penalty. Carol Gil misjudged the marking and ended up touching the ball in the area with her hand. The penalty was promptly awarded. With the elimination, Tricolor now faces the Campeonato Paulista and the Copa do Brasil. Deportivo Cali will face Colo-Colo in the first game of the semi-final. In the other group, Corinthians competes for a place with Ferroviária. The games take place next Wednesday (15).
