“You don’t mind being called beautiful, do you? Because you are,” Trump said, “risking your political career.”
The face of the peace agreement for Gaza, Donald Trump was at the Egypt this Monday to sign the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip. He was accompanied by dozens of world leaders, but there was one leader in particular who caught his attention.
During his speech, with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni behind him, Trump turned back to praise “the beautiful young woman” — but very carefully.
“We have a young woman who is… — I’m not allowed to say because it usually implies the end of a political career. If you use the word ‘beautiful’ in the United States about a woman, that’s the end of your political career. But I’m going to take my chances,” Trump said, then turning to Meloni behind him: “you don’t mind me calling you beautiful, do you? Because you are. Thank you very much for coming.”
“She wanted to be here, she is incredible and they respect her a lot in Italy. She is a very successful politician”, he then said in front of the audience about Meloni, who reacted with a smile of gratitude.

“The war is over”
This Monday’s meeting included representatives from Egypt, Qatar and Türkiye, countries mediating the agreement, but did not include Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, invited by Trump. In fact, neither Israel nor Hamas were represented at the ceremony.

The first phase of the agreement (ceasefire, gradual withdrawal of Israel, entry of humanitarian aid into the enclave and exchange of hostages for prisoners) has been concluded and the second phase of the peace plan (reconstruction of the enclave, disarmament of Hamas and governance of the Gaza Strip) is already underway, assured Donald Trump.
