President Luiz Inácio da Silva called ministers from the (STF) for a private conversation, on Tuesday night (14), at Palácio da Alvorada. On the agenda, the name that will replace the minister in the Court will be indicated. Lula’s favorite is the chief minister of the Attorney General’s Office (AGU), . Dean of the Court – who participated in the meeting with the president – has another favorite: the former president of , Rodrigo Pacheco (PSD-MG). STF ministers Cristiano Zanin, and Flávio Dino, and the head of Justice, Ricardo Lewandowski, were also present at Alvorada.
In addition to Gilmar, Dino and Alexandre de Moraes defend Pacheco’s nomination. So far, however, Lula has other plans for the senator. He wants Pacheco to be a candidate for the government of , in 2026. The PT has no strong competitor and Lula needs a platform in Minas, the country’s second electoral college.
