After suggesting favoritism to Palmeiras, Jhon Jhon says he criticizes the arbitration and says he is ‘grateful’ to the club

After firing back at the refereeing and complaining about alleged favoritism, he justified his comment. The midfielder, trained at the Palmeiras base, said he did not want to attack the club, but just criticize the refereeing. After the match, won by Palmeiras 5-1, Jhon Jhon said: “The teams that come here don’t just compete against Palmeiras, they compete against the referee too”. Red Bull Bragantino’s goal was scored by the midfielder, with a penalty scored by Raphael Claus after VAR analysis.

“My criticism was in relation to the refereeing, and it would be no different in any other place or any other opponent”, explained Jhon Jhon, in a post on Instagram after the repercussions of the outburst made on the side of the field. The player also commented on the affection he has for the club where he became a professional. “I am and will always be grateful to Palmeiras, a club that changed my history and that of my family, a place where teammates became brothers, a place that I learned to love”, he published.

In the next round, Palmeiras, which has 61 points, will go to Rio to face vice-leader Flamengo. The game at Maracanã is scheduled for Sunday, at 4pm. Red Bull Bragantino, with 36 points, enters the field on Monday, at 7pm, to face Juventude, in Caxias do Sul.
