A São Paulo Civil Police arrested 15 peoplethis Thursday (16), during operation “Hidden Connections”, which dismantled a gang linked to high-profile robberies in the capital of São Paulo.
The group operated mainly in theft of cell phones, jewelry and motorcycles and had Paraisópolis as one of the main points of support for the resale of products. One suspect died in a confrontation with police.
According to investigations, the gang was directly or indirectly involved in crimes of robbery followed by death that occurred in recent months in São Paulo. , which allowed the quick resale of objects and guaranteed financial support for the gang.
Among the cases that helped the police gather evidence in front of Parque do Povo, in Itaim Bibi; CET agent José Domingos da Silva, 48 years old, shot in the Chácara do Jockey Park region; and architect Jefferson Dias Aguiar, who died after being shot during a robbery in Butantã.
The investigation began 18 months ago and gained strength after the arrest, in February 2025, of “Mainha do Crime”, identified as one of the leaders of the gang specializing in motorcycle attacks in different regions of the city. Based on the information obtained following the arrest of the criminal, investigators were able to map the group’s entire support and activity network.
According to the Civil Police, the dismantling of this criminal link is considered strategic, as some of the suspects were directly linked to the chain of receipt of stolen objects — an essential step in the maintenance of property and violent crimes in the capital of São Paulo.
