A Czech tourist fell from the top of Rysov in the High Tatras, after two days the rescuers found him dead. The Mountain Rescue Service (HZS) reported that the emergency call operation center received a request for help in the search for a missing 43-year-old man as early as Wednesday (October 15) in the morning, as the family had lost contact with him.
The last time they managed to contact the missing person was on Tuesday (October 14), when he was allegedly moving in the Rysy area. “Unfortunately, the operator’s location services were used during the search, but without success. The squadron of the Ministry of the Interior of the Slovak Republic and rescuers with drones were also requested for help, but due to unfavorable conditions, it was not possible to use aerial technology.” stated HZS.
That is why HZS rescuers from the Vysoké Tatry Regional Center went to the search operation by land. While searching the area, they found the body of the wanted person under the wall above Žabí plesami on Thursday. “Unfortunately, it is believed that there was a slip on the icy surface and a subsequent fall of approximately 300 meters, in which the wanted person suffered non-life-threatening injuries.” added HZS.
