United States President Donald Trump will speak with Russian President Vladimir Putin this Thursday (16), according to a White House official, before a scheduled meeting with Ukrainian leader Volodimir Zelenski.
Trump has expressed frustration with Putin over the Russian leader’s refusal to stop fighting in Ukraine or meet in person with Zelensky for peace talks. Zelenski is expected to ask Trump for more advanced weapons when they meet on Friday at the White House.
Plans for the call between Trump and Putin were initially announced by Axios.
