Slovak actor Štefan Skrúcaný (65) reappeared on TV screens after a long break in the marquee series The Promise. He took on the role of an influential official from the 1980s who is loyal to the regime, but whose life is full of twists and turns and intricate intrigue. He cheats on his serial wife at every step.
He had to adapt to the character of Štefan Valent through several significant changes. Above all, he grew longer hair, which the make-up artist meticulously adjusts. He also wears period costumes reflecting the atmosphere of the past years, and before each filming, he glues a mustache that completes the authentic look.
Such a significant transformation can sometimes surprise even his wife, Smotánka presenter Erika Judínyová (54). “I’m preparing my cream in the study, I run down to the hall and see my husband, who was leaving at four in the morning for filming,” she described the situation at their home on Instagram on Tuesday.
