Among them is the announcement of a new rule that expands export restrictions on “entity-list” (list of restricted entities), in addition to a measure to impose additional port fees on Chinese ships. The spokeswoman said that the measures adopted by Washington are “deliberately creating unnecessary misunderstandings and panic”.
According to the representative, these actions harm the interests of Chinese industries while “they increase domestic inflation in the United States, undermine the competitiveness of North American ports and harm employment in the country”. She further stated that the actions are “taken out of necessity” and which aim to “safeguarding a level playing field in global shipping and shipbuilding markets”.
