Security prevents tragedy and saves woman with headphones from being run over by tram

A security guard at Cumhuriyet Square Station, in the city of Kayseri, Turkey, became a hero after saving a woman who was almost caught by a moving tram.

Video surveillance images show the passenger, who was wearing headphones, crossing distractedly towards the tracks, without realizing that the vehicle was approaching. The security guard, who was checking the platform’s safety lines, realized the danger at the last moment and pulled the woman back, seconds before the tram passed.

The moment was shared on social media by the city’s transport company and quickly went viral, with many praising the employee’s quick reaction. At the end of the video, the woman, still in shock, can be seen thanking the security guard with a handshake.
