Palmeiras may have an important absence for the direct duel with Flamengo, this Sunday (19), at 4pm (Brasília time), at Maracanã, for the 29th round of the Brazilian Championship. Goalkeeper Weverton suffered an injury to one of his hands and it is not yet known whether he will be fit to play.

The club has not released official information so far and is awaiting training this Friday afternoon (17) to finalize the diagnosis. If the absence of the starter is confirmed, Carlos Miguel or Marcelo Lomba should take over the Palmeiras goal.

Who should take over the Palmeiras goal against Flamengo?

Despite having arrived from Nottingham Forest, in England, for 5.5 million euros (around R$34.7 million at the time), Carlos Miguel has not yet debuted in the Palmeiras shirt.

If Weverton is unable to play, the former Corinthians player could play his first official match in a decisive game for the direction of the Brasileirão.

The young goalkeeper has been prepared with caution by the coaching staff and is seen as the name of the future for the position. Marcelo Lomba, more experienced, appears as an important alternative, with four games in the season.
