Interior Minister Gerhard Karner announced the agreement on what he considered to be the “biggest change in gun law in the last 30 years” with the words, “Nothing will change for hunters.” The law was recently passed by the National Council. However, only a fraction of them come into force on November 1st. Parliament has left it up to the Interior Minister to determine when the rest will actually be applied. He will then announce this at a later date.
