Out of 61 votes in São Domingos de Benfica that had defective ballots, 7 votes went to the CDU and 1 to Chega. But the superiority in this group was not enough for João Ferreira to elect two councilors in Lisbon.

All due to the 61 early voting ballots which, due to a technical error, did not originally include the respective square for Chega. The votes remained sealed and were now recounted taking into account the party headed by Bruno Mascarenhas in Lisbon.
It was a brief hope for the CDUwho believed this Friday that he could still surpass Chega in the number of votes and get another councilor in the City Council. It ended up not happening… for a while difference of 3 votes.
As CNN explains, among these votes with defective ballots in São Domingos de Benfica, the CDU received seven votes and Chega one vote.
According to , 30 votes also went to the Viver Lisboa coalition (PS, Livre, Bloco and PAN), 21 to the “Por ti, Lisboa” alliance (PSD, CDS-PP and IL) and one to Volto. There was also one abstention.
João Ferreira’s party was therefore closer to Chega in the final results, which was not enough to elect two councilors: the CDU has one and Chega has two in the Lisbon Municipal Assembly.
