Do you wipe countertops and mirrors with them? Such cloths are not suitable for this purpose

Most Poles don’t even think about it, but the colors of microfiber cloths are of fundamental importance. It is not without reason that manufacturers make sure that they are available in a wide range of colors. And no, it’s not about making them prettier.

There are four main colors distinguished in professional cleaning systems each of which is assigned a specific task for which it was created. Get to know them and it will make cleaning easier. It will be more effective and hygienic.

What color microfiber cloth you use when matters. It is not about aesthetic issues or the fact that color affects the properties of the material, but about maintaining hygiene and order in cleaning.

Thanks to the so-called Zone coding (color coding system) can make your work easier to organize. It is immediately clear which color is used for what, which is why this system is often used in hotels and hospitals.

But most importantly, this allows you to reduce the risk of cross-infection, i.e. avoid transfer of dirt, viruses and bacteria between different areas in the house (e.g. toilet and kitchen, which could lead to food contamination).

they save cleanliness… and health. It’s a visual guide that makes everything more organized and hygienic. The risk also decreases using a cloth already soaked with a cleaning agent that is not suitable for a given surface, which reduces the risk of damaging it.

Sometimes there are also other colors of cleaning cloths. Usually it is black (for technical rooms) and white (for medical areas). However, the principle of their use in institutions does not change. Each color represents one cleaning zone.

  • cloth: used in high-risk zone, in sanitary facilities for cleaning, urinal and toilet bowl.
  • yellow cloth: used in high-risk areas (without contact with feces), in bathrooms to wipe sinks, mirrors or faucets.
  • blue cloth – used for cleaning low-risk surfacesdesks, furniture, door handles and office equipment, as well as glass surfaces.
  • green cloth – intended for food contact zonesin the kitchen, for cleaning countertops and catering equipment
