Rain returns with intensity next week

Climatologist Mário Marques provides the weather forecast for the next few days.

Aveiro, Braga, Porto, Viana do Castelo and Vila Real are this Sunday because of the rain. Climatologist Mário Marques said, in statements to SIC Notícias, that it is expected to rain more intensely between Tuesday and Friday.

“Between the 23rd and 24th there may be some concern in terms of precipitation. There may be a period where more intense precipitation will occur in a short space of time and also the likelihood of thunderstorms forming,” he said.

The weather for this Sunday

The IPMA predicts very cloudy skies for today with periods of rain or showers, sometimes strong and may be accompanied by thunderstorms in Minho between mid-morning and mid-afternoon.

The wind will blow weak to moderate (up to 30 km/h) from the south/southwest, being sometimes strong (up to 40 km/h) on the North coast in the morning, and blowing moderate to strong (30 to 50 km/h) in the highlands, with gusts of up to 70 km/h between mid-morning and mid-afternoon.

The weather forecast points to mist or mist in some places, especially from the end of the afternoon, and a drop in maximum temperature that will be accentuated in Minho and Douro Litoral.

Maximum temperatures will range between 19 degrees Celsius in Viana do Castelo, Braga, Guarda and Viseu and 30 in Beja.
