Czech moderator Vašek Matějovský, who works on the Czech Fajn radio, has delved into the events in Slovakia more than once. As part of the morning Wake Up Show, he humorously tells listeners about current topics. The first time was at Devín Castle, and then he also commented.
This time, Vašek mentioned the Slovak Minister of Culture Martina Šimkovičová and her trip to the USA. On Friday, September 19, the Stop Corruption Foundation reported on the social network that among the orders of the Ministry of Culture of the Slovak Republic are also plane tickets to New York for Šimkovičová and Petra Demkova, head of the Department of Communication of the department. The ministry had to order them for almost 16,000 euros.
The Czech moderator talked about the Slovak minister in the ranking “Three things that will blow you away today”. “Šimkovičová only had a work schedule for one day as part of her six-day trip to the USA. The plane tickets and accommodation worth half a million (Czech crowns, editor’s note) were paid for by the state. And Šimkovičová therefore overworked herself,” Matějovský said with a laugh.
But then you didn’t leave a really sarcastic comment. “But one day, that’s work! That’s what we should all be doing! That is the solution to our problems. Not to work for one day, but to work for Slovakia. Sorry, I was babbling, I just imagined it,” he spared no critical words. You can find the VIDEO at the end of the article.
However, the minister criticized the information published in the media about the price of plane tickets, which, according to her, is not based on the truth. She emphasized that they flew to the USA for the Department of Culture in a minimal staffing regime in order to save money. When asked if she also used the trip to meet her daughter, she replied that the program, which she paid for “out of her own pocket”, was her personal matter.
