At the end of the press conference, Abel regretted the result and praised the Flamengo team:
“I leave sad for the result, but proud of my team’s behavior until the last second. And Flamengo is an excellent team with an excellent coach, they don’t need… Other things. Flamengo is good enough to share the game against any team in Brazil”, he concluded.
With the victory against Palmeiras, Flamengo now has the same 61 points as the leader, but remains in second place due to having one less victory than Alviverde.
