French President Emmanuel Macron promised that the authorities will do everything to capture the four suspects in the robbery of the Louvre Museum. The head of state classified the crime as an attack on French heritage.
The French President promised this Sunday that the French authorities will do everything possible to capture the four suspects in a robbery this morning at the Louvre Museum in Paris.
“Everything is being done, everywhere, to make this happen,” said the head of state.
This is an “attack on a heritage that we cherish because it is our history”, said Emmanuel Macron, promising quick action from the authorities. “We will recover the works and the authors will be brought to justice”, he promised.
Eight pieces “of inestimable heritage value”, including the tiara of Empress Eugénie (wife of Napoleon III, emperor from 1852 to 1870) and two necklaces, were stolen this morning, according to the French Ministry of Culture.
