The instability in Amazon’s cloud, which affected several services such as Alexa, Prime Video and the company’s own website, has been resolved, Amazon Web Services (AWS) said in a statement issued around 8 am (Brasília time) this Monday (20).
All services should be running normally now, informou a AWS, but “some requests may be being limited” while work towards a full resolution continues.
“O (DNS) has been fully mitigated, and most AWS Services operations are running smoothly now,” says the statement.
In technical jargon, “mitigated“ means that the impact or severity of the problem has been contained, reduced or neutralized, although the root cause may still be in the process of being resolved.
“Some requests may be being throttled as we work toward a full resolution. Furthermore, some services continue to process an accumulation of events (backlog) such as Cloudtrail e Lambda.“
A AWS says that, although most operations have recovered, some regions may still experience high error rates. If this is the case, customers are advised to clear caches through your browser settings.
What is Amazon Web Services?
AWS (Amazon Web Services) is Amazon’s internet cloud service that connects companies to people who use their applications or online platforms.
Companies using AWS pay a subscription fee to the technology giant to enable reliable online communication between companies and their customers.
According to an HG Insights report published this year, AWS holds a 30% market share in the global cloud infrastructure market, with a customer base of over four million.
The virtual environment, according to the company, is “the most comprehensive and widely adopted cloud in the world.”
