The president of , , stated this Sunday (19), that Beijing needs to “resume the purchase of soybeans, at least in the same volumes as before”, and stop sending fentanyl to the USA, when describing what he expects from China in the midst of bilateral negotiations. The Republican added that he maintains “a great relationship with” and again raised the possibility of reducing tariffs on China, as long as Beijing meets these conditions. Aboard Air Force One, the Republican also said he did not want the Asian country to “play the rare earths game with us”. According to him, these are “very normal” requests to consider reducing surcharges.
Asked about the situation in the Middle East, the president declared that the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas remains in force, but that some rebels within the group may be behind recent shootings. “Maybe the Hamas leadership is not involved in this, but in any case, we will deal with it in a tough but correct way,” he said. Trump also commented on Argentina’s economic situation, saying that the country “is dying” and that he “would like to help them.”
