ESPN statistics confirm Shai Gilgeous-Alexander’s incredible consistency: the point guard has averaged more than 30 points per game over the last three regular seasons. In the campaign that culminated with the title, his performance was even more remarkable, recording 32.7 points in around 34.2 minutes per game.
In contrast, his participation in the current preseason was limited to three games, with an average of just 19 minutes on the court, resulting in an average of 17 points per game, the culmination of which was a 23-point performance against the Milwaukee Bucks.
How does the NBA regular season work?
The NBA is made up of 30 teams, divided into two groups, the Western and Eastern Conferences. During the regular season, each team plays 82 games, 41 at home and 41 away.
