Midfielder Junior Sornoza, currently a standout and captain of Independiente del Valle, is the same Ecuadorian player who played for Corinthians during the 2019 season. His trajectory connects the two clubs, although with passages of different impact.
Hired by Corinthians at the beginning of 2019, coming from Fluminense, Sornoza participated in 50 official games for the São Paulo club that year. During his time there, he contributed with one goal and provided 11 assists, being part of the squad that won the 2019 Campeonato Paulista title. At the end of the season, the player left Parque São Jorge, following his career with LDU de Quito and Tijuana, in Mexico.
In 2022, Sornoza returned to Independiente del Valle, the club where he began his development as a player.
