An 83-year-old woman died last Tuesday (21), after being attacked and raped in the residence where she lived, in São Gonçalo, in Rio de Janeiro (RJ). The suspect of the crime was arrested this Wednesday (22).

According to data from the Civil Police of the State of Rio de Janeiro (PCERJ), on the 1st, a complaint was registered that the woman had been a victim of rape and that, due to the violence suffered, she was admitted to the São Gonçalo Emergency Room, in the Zé Garoto neighborhood.
Initially, the complainant pointed out that the possible perpetrator of the crime would be a man known only by the nickname “Feijão”. However, investigations, based on testimonies and images, indicated that the real perpetrator was Marcus Vinicius da Silva Correa, 44 years old, stepson of the victim’s brother.
The suspect lived in the backyard of the residence where the victim lived. He was located this Wednesday (22), in the center of São Gonçalo, where he worked as a car valet on the street.
To the police, he confessed to having raped the victim, claiming that he was under the influence of drugs at the time he committed the crime.
According to PCERJ, the woman was attacked during the night while resting in the bedroom of her home, and could not resist the injuries, dying in hospital.
