The approaching cold weather and the first frosty nights herald the final end of the mushroom season in some parts of the country. However, before mushroom pickers hide their knives and baskets for good, in some regions one can still count on the last harvest.
This year’s autumn mushroom outbreak was not a good one. According to the data from the portal gryzy.pl, 2025 is in the lower part of the rankings of the last fifteen years. Only the 2015 season was worse in terms of abundance. The main problem was the low intensity of the abundance, especially when it comes to boletes and brown boletes, the two most desired species by mushroom picking enthusiasts.
