According to information provided by the institution, the intelligence sector identified that the fugitive was hiding in a residence located in an invasion area in the Volta Seca neighborhood, a region known as Morro do Marrosa — the same address registered when he was still monitored by an electronic ankle bracelet.
Based on the information, two teams from the Electronic Monitoring Division were sent to the location and surrounded the property at around 10 am. During the action, Vandré tried to escape by jumping through a side window, but was intercepted by agents who had blocked a parallel street, used as an escape route through the vegetation.
After recapture, the prisoner was taken to the Legal Medical Institute (IML) to undergo a forensic examination and was then returned to the Francisco de Oliveira Conde Prison Unit (FOC), where he remains at the disposal of the Justice Department.
