Ifac certifies eight classes of the Thousand Women Program in Cruzeiro do Sul and Tarauacá

The Federal Institute of Acre (Ifac), through the Dean of Extension (Proex), carried out the certification of eight classes of the Individual Microentrepreneur, Salesperson and Cash Operator courses in the municipalities of Cruzeiro do Sul (20.10) and Tarauacá (21.10).

The ceremonies were attended by the rector Fábio Storch, the dean of Extension Luana Melo and the dean of Education Ana Cláudia de Souza Garcia. The training is part of the third cycle of the agreement between Ifac and the Federal Government, with support from municipal governments and the Government of the State of Acre, through the State Secretariat for Social Assistance and Human Rights and the office of vice-governor Mailza Assis.

The organization of the certifications was the responsibility of deputy coordinators Suélen Ferreira Teles de Holanda, in Cruzeiro do Sul, and Lidiane Garcia da Silva, in Tarauacá. During the ceremony, the Rectory and Dean of Extension awarded honorable mentions to the teachers who worked in the program in both municipalities.

Certification in Cruzeiro do Sul – In Cruzeiro do Sul, the ceremony was held at Teatro dos Náuas and was attended by the general director of the campus, Raellisson do Nascimento Walter. During their speeches, the candidates highlighted the importance of training and the transformative impact of the Thousand Women Program on their lives.

Student Hillary Oliveira stated that the course provided her with much more than technical learning. She highlights that she learned about self-confidence, overcoming, empathy and the power that we, women, have to transform our reality. Hillary reported the challenges of balancing the course with motherhood, but assured that she faced everything “to be an example and show that effort and dedication are always worth it”. She ended her speech with a reflection: “The program taught me that it is never too late to start over and that I can go much further”.

Fellow graduate Maria Auxiliadora da Silva Coelho dedicated her speech to teachers, highlighting the transformative role of education. “Being a teacher is much more than transmitting knowledge, it is believing in the potential of others”, he stated.

She highlighted that the microentrepreneurship course taught how to “undertake with purpose, ethics and responsibility” and recognized the example of teachers as essential for learning. “Today, we leave here more prepared for the market, more confident in our projects, but, above all, more aware of the importance of sharing what we learn”, he concluded.

Certification in Tarauacá – In Tarauacá, the ceremony took place in the campus auditorium and was attended by the general director, Denis Borges Tomio. Student Keyla Cláudia Meneses Pothin, nine months pregnant, represented the Saleswoman course class and reported the challenges and achievements experienced during the training. “When I started the course I was already pregnant and now, with the delivery of certification, I am completing another learning stage. For me, as a woman and mother of a family, this program opened up new horizons and many possibilities”, she stated.

Keyla also highlighted the support received during classes: “I gained knowledge, shared stories with my colleagues and now it’s just growth, taking advantage of what I learned throughout the course”.

Inclusion and welcoming action – During the ceremonies, course participants received new clothing kits, as part of the Social Clothing action, promoted by the office of vice-governor Mailza Assis. The initiative aims to promote social inclusion and welcome certified women.

The coordinator of the Juruá Regional Department of Social Assistance and Human Rights, Carem Carvalho, highlighted the importance of delivering the kits. According to her, the gesture symbolizes “social inclusion, acceptance and empowerment of women who have completed their training”.

Carem also highlighted that the delivery of new clothes aims to welcome women and include them in the essential social programs of the Government of the State of Acre. She concluded by stating that the moment represents “a fraternization, a gesture of love and affection, where the State government is present by welcoming people through social clothing”.
