Samuel Xavier was the scorer of Tricolor’s winning goal at Maracanã. This was the 35-year-old player’s seventh goal in 2025, in the highest scoring season of his career.
With the result, the Rio club reached the mark of 44 points and is two behind Botafogo, sixth placed and first team within the classification zone for the next edition of the .
Fluminense returns to the pitch for the Brazilian Championship next Wednesday (29), at 7pm (Brasília time), when they host Ceará.
Internacional, on the other hand, remains in 15th place in the league, with 35 points won. The team from Rio Grande do Sul will seek to recover in the tournament on November 2nd, at 6:30 pm, against Atlético-MG, in Beira-Rio.

In the first minute of the game, Fluminense was in danger from striker John Kennedy. He received a cross from the right from winger Agustín Canobbio and finished first time, but stopped at goalkeeper Ivan.
